Specialized Therapy for Trauma, Dissociation, Anxiety & OCD

Virtual Trauma Therapy for Adults and Teens in Texas

THE HARSH IMPACT OF SHAME

People who were supposed to care for you have failed you for most of your life–overreacting to the wrong things, underreacting when you needed love the most, or supporting you in ways that never quite reached the depths of your trauma, anxiety, or OCD.

Over time, you’ve learned you are the problem or a ‘bad person’. You might be ashamed–or even afraid–of what could come up in therapy sessions.

Despite all of this, we’re confident that when we start our therapy work together, it will start to make sense.

We will connect the dots of your experience so you can see that your symptoms are not a reflection of who you are—but of your resilience, how you found ways for survival and emotional safety where there was none or very little.

If you feel like you have nothing and everything to lose, you’re in the right place.

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN – YOU AREN’T HAPPY?”

The judgment is thick in the words of a loved one when you express stress over family, relationships, work, school, or parenting.

"Your life is good! You should be grateful," they say.

You sink deeper into shame.

It brings you back to when your feelings weren’t allowed as a child—when you learned your emotions upset the adults around you, so you hid them.

Your parents didn’t have their own stuff together, so they definitely couldn’t show up for you.

Exhausted doesn’t even begin to describe how you feel. You can’t remember a time when you weren’t tired, when you felt good enough you could just be without the fear of the other shoe dropping.

And if you don't solve these problems--become happy? You're certain everyone will blame you. It'll feel like you've failed everyone and you're the cause believing you should've known better and seen this coming.

YOU CAN’T TRUST REALITY OR FEEL SAFE

You’re struggling with dissociation, anxiety, trauma, or OCD symptoms. Even though there’s a name for what you’re experiencing, you’re still dumbfounded by how you feel.

You can’t trust reality. You can’t trust your body. You can’t trust others. You certainly can’t trust yourself—to feel safe, to be safe, to stop bad things from happening.

Then there are the intrusive thoughts and images you can’t bring yourself to say out loud:

"What if I decide to swerve off the road?"

"What if I hurt them?"

"What if I'm actually selfish and awful?"

These thoughts can range on a vast spectrum from mild and embarrassing to severe and debilitating.

“We may encounter many defeats
but we must not be defeated.”
– Maya Angelou

WHAT YOU WANT MOST

Peace. A sense of calm in your body.

To trust yourself—fully, wholeheartedly, completely.

Right now, that doesn’t even seem comprehensible.

HOW THERAPY HELPS

You experience your full range of emotions, knowing suffering and feeling overwhelmed does not mean you’re broken.

You feel a sense of calm and peace, this spaciousness in your brain and body that goes beyond words.

You’re checking less, your intrusive thoughts have lessened–or don’t scare you as much.

You can care without having to be a caretaker. You can love without trying to earn it back.

Even though your life still includes struggle, there is now a strong, steady energy within you guiding you as close as possible to your ideal self. And you know what to do.

There’s a caveat…

To achieve this, you’ll have to be willing to be uncomfortable and sit with the feelings you don’t want to face. Like shame, fear, and self-loathing–all the parts of you that you had to hide to get your needs met in this life.

You’ll be asked to lean into that small sliver of hope–the part of you that wants to believe you deserve healing—and those small moments where you know there is something better for you.

Let us assure you, you won’t have to do it on your own.  Our compassionate team offers you grounding, accepting energy to support you in making sense of the internal chaos–guiding you towards healing without becoming overwhelmed.

Meet Our Team of Compassionate Trauma & OCD Therapists

Hi! I’m Abigail Eck, founder of Point of Convergence Therapy, a group practice specializing in Trauma, Anxiety, Dissociation, and OCD.

We help adults and teens who feel like they have to hide parts of themselves to be loved and accepted—and who need a way out of this pattern without losing everything in the process.

Many of our clients feel confused about what’s happening to them. They blame themselves for their pain, convinced it’s 100% their fault. If this sounds familiar, you’ve found the team who can help.

Our therapists are highly empathic professionals who seek to understand you on a deeper level. With specialized training and expertise, you can trust you’re in good hands when you seek trauma therapy with us.

Benefits of Trauma Therapy:
