Hi there! Congratulations for making it here. I respect your courage to seek support.
Have you ever caught yourself reflecting on the questions, “What should I do next?” or “Who am I?”? If so, you’re not alone. Life doesn’t come with a manual, and questioning our journey, our choices, and wondering about the “what if’s” of life can be difficult and isolating. Rather than freezing at the gates of change, I’d like to encourage you to explore a different path. To better understand your past and what has brought you here, we’ll reflect on the role stress has played in your life. We’ll equip you with the necessary skills to cope so you no longer freeze, but take action.
My approach centers on the notion that we all want to connect and be understood. I take into consideration the intersections of your life, how you choose to identify, how you show up, and what you want to work on when developing your treatment plan. We all need someone who empathizes with us and understands what we’re experiencing. My mission is to provide that safe space for each client. To do that, I obtained training in many forms of therapy, including TF-CBT, CBT, EMDR, experiential therapy, and humanistic psychotherapy. I also provide therapeutic modalities like Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Somatic ExperiencingThe clients I’ve worked with come in with their unique journey and symptoms, but common themes revolve around the areas of existentialism, depression, complex trauma, and developmental/behavioral concerns. I have provided therapy for people experiencing abuse, complex trauma, and homelessness as well as individuals with Autism using Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) and crisis counseling at Domestic Violence Shelters.
As a Latino queer man, I understand how imperative it is to find spaces where we feel safe, advocated for, and represented. These spaces can be hard to come by. That’s why I strive to create that exact space by being transparent and taking the first step of vulnerability in our therapeutic relationship. Through vulnerability, you’ll become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors allowing you to move closer towards a more joyous and fulfilling life. Your first therapy session is a big step towards a future in which you feel whole. Let’s begin–I’m here with you.
